Scott Pilgrim Vs. Suomynona | In 34 Parts

I’ve met many fans who have seen ‘Scott Pilgrim’ in theatres 7 or 8 times. It is always gratifying to hear.

But this guy wins the gold medal for dedication to this film. And has the stubs the prove it.

All 34 of them.

I am not sure I have even seen it 34 times in a cinema. Behold!

I ended with 18. Here’s the first 11, http://twitpic.com/2ijdwh That was a fun just-over-a-week. I should take an updated pic of my stubs. But, viewing #17 was *the* last showing in town (Omaha, that is) and #18, much to my delight, was at the Egyptian.

18 times is nothing to sniff at. Kudos!

  • Questionsleep777

well…only 7 times. Once for each Evil Ex. (wish i could’ve gotten out to the coast for one of the Q&A’s though…in Texas here.)

  • stuart

Only six in the theatre, sadly. :(

If I could afford it, I would of gone to see it every night it was playing at my local cinema. Kudos for that guy, just for him traveling to other cities just to see it.

For me it got to the point when none of my friends wanted to see it any more, so I went by myself.

Here in Brazil we only got the movie in 3 theaters. It was going to be for a week only, but they extended it to 3 weeks now, because people are still going there.

I saw it once in theaters and once on blu-ray, analyzing the whole thing scene by scene. Took me about 5 hours to do it. Learned a lot from it too, thanks.

I’m just gonna go over there and pick up my lower jaw off of the floor…

I saw the movie 9 times, my budget could not have possibly allowed me to watch it anymore times.
I now have it on blue ray, dvd, on my laptop, on my ipod, and on my phone.
Here’s to watching it many many more times.
Thanks Edgar Wright, best movie EVER!

I went to the first midnight screening, then again friday night too. Both were spur of the moment, and I liked it better the second time.

That’s awesome Chris :) I’m happy you were able to make it to one of the Q&As. They were a blast. The one with Guillermo was so much fun.

  • Justin

Just three views in theater for me. Twice on opening day, once a couple days later.

My total CAN be sniffed at.

    That’s nothing to sniff at.

  • Dylan Freitag

I only got to see it twice in theaters, but both times where in a period of 36 hours.

That is epic. I wonder how many times he will watch it on dvd/bluray if he doesn’t already have it!

I could be being very dense here (my crappy hectic life this year has prevented me from checking this site as much as I did like back in the good ol’ days - ie. every few weeks as opposed to every few hours) but why is the DVD not out in the UK yet?
I need it in my life.
ALLCAPS would’ve conveyed my intense emotion more but I would really like an answer to this and aggression ain’t always the way to go about these things.
P.S. Much love to you Edgar if you see this - I’ve very much missed your supreme excellence in my life!
P.P.S. I saw the film 3 times. But only because I’m poor.

Counting the New Bev, 9 total. http://yfrog.com/e9c0hj

It’s no great conspiracy. The movie was released later in the UK and I think is being released on Boxing Day to avoid the Xmas shopping clusterfuck. If you have a BluRay player, it’s worth noting that the US BluRay is region free and importing from Amazon.com is not too difficult if you can’t wait too long.

  • Cordelia

    Ahhh this is wonderful news!
    Thank you :)
(I will have to force myself into my friend’s house as she has a BluRay player but she hearts Pilgrim too since I introduced her last year *straightens tie* so shouldn’t be a problem! - Even if I stay there for 3 days straight to watch all the bonus material while she’s at work….)

I just wanna let you know that your wonderful film is being treated like shit (maybe kinda self-boycotted or something) by Universal in Italy, where it opens *today*.

Let me be precise: SP is out only on 75 screens in the whole country.
And (worst of all) it’s screening only in the afternoon.
There’s only ONE theatre out of these 75, in Rome, which is screening SP at 9pm.
Also: it opens against Harry Potter, with more than 600 screens.

    It’s a frustrating shame.

I was very frustrated upon finding out the premiere in Mexico consisted of the movie showing only in Mexico City in a handful of theaters, for about a week. All I wanted was to watch Scott Pilgrim in a proper movie theater as many times possible (7, at least, for every day of it’s short lived week), smuggle tons of snacks and invite all my friends for some proper fun.
I had to resort to buying the dvd and watch it on my inappropiately tiny laptop screen with bad speakers :(
As of yesterday I’ve seen it three times. I’ve still to watch it another 4 times with all the different commentary tracks, even the technical one with Bill Pope’s sweet voice ;)
    Anyways…
…Thank you, Edgar, for making this wonderful movie. Can’t wait to see what you’ll be doing next!
