I’ve had to find your blog and tell you how much I enjoyed Scott Pilgrim:

I’m 31, an artist and animator, and for whatever reason I wasn’t exactly interested in Scott Pilgrim. The game was released on PS3 before the movie. The whole retro beat ‘em up was amazing. I played it 3 hours straight Wednesday night and even though it hardly went into the characters, I wanted to learn more about them. I bought the first graphic novel that night and read it before bed. Hooked. Went to work the next day (Thursday) and decided I was gonna see the movie at a midnight release. Went home Thursday night, beat the game, saw the movie, LOVED every second of it. Bought the sound track the next morning off itunes. Love it. Went to work on all sleepy-eyed on Friday and immediately saw the movie again after work. Technically twice in one day. Over the next week, I bought two more graphic novels and saw the movie a third time.

After all this gushing, I think the point is the movie completely connected with me and I had no idea it would. I like comics and art and games and Cera is funny I liked Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, I went to ComiCon and saw all the buzz. More than all that, I’ve had complicated relationships, I’ve obsessed over girls, I’ve had my heart broken several times. I think everything I’ve seen and heard has done Bryan Lee O’Malley’s work complete justice. The game, the fantastic movie, the soundtrack - it’s all pretty amazing to see so much love and respect in so many mediums for a license like this in Hollywood.

The cast was great, and man, the timing of the entire flick is so solid. There’s plenty more I could go on and on about but I just had to let you know. Fantastic work. Going for a fourth showing on Sunday with some friends.

Saw it 3 times already. One of the most romantic movies I have ever seen. Great performances all around. My favorite film of the year.

Enjoy it UK! It may not have necessarily been a Box Office hit over here in the US, but I still rank it up on my top movies of all time. (:
