Scott Pilgrim at Empire’s Movie-Con III | 15th August, 2010

Good news, folks. Movie-Con III, Empire’s star-studded celebration of all things cinema (in partnership with the BFI), is just over a month away. And we’re enormously excited to announce that the closing film this year will be Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

The lucky few with tickets to this popular event will be given a chance to feast their peepers on Wright’s comic-book movie, in which Michael Cera’s lovelorn slacker battles seven evil exes for the heart of his girlfriend, nearly two weeks before its UK release.

And there’s more: this year Movie-Con will take place over three days, not two. Kick-off is on Friday August 13, with a special screening (which we can’t announce) at 8.30pm, followed by our first Movie-Con party. Provided you don’t get too blootered, report back early to the BFI Southbank on Saturday and Sunday (August 14 and 15) for a two-day smorgasbord of exclusive clips, blockbuster previews, on-stage Q&As, surprise appearances, screenings, Kim Newman’s Bastard-Hard Movie Quiz, host Chris Hewitt’s bad jokes, and tons of spot prizes that are in no way just the old tat lying around the office.

Keep checking back for more announcements…

Call the BFI Southbank box office on
020 7928 3232 from 11.30am on Tuesday 6th July.

Tickets are limited to 2 per purchase and are priced at £35 for the Weekend Pass.

That sounds like so much fun!
Wow I bet your calendar for July & August is starting to look really busy Edgar.
You know those small gaps in the calendar which are marked “R & R”? That's a typo, it's supposed to say “OZ & NZ” ;)

Incorrect - Fantasia is scheduled the same day as our LA premiere making it impossible for us to attend. Shame! Will be there in spirit. Have still never been. We should be at London however.

Oooh August 25th…my birthday….might go see it again then, as well as at Movie Con
