Is this supost to be the final scene from book 4? I’m getting that vibe from the formal wear.
I think we’re now in the part where the books and the movie diverge into their own creations, so the scenes aren’t going to match up exactly. This might be subspace, might be the final boss battle, might be something else. We’ll just have to sit back and enjoy the ride, and not worry too much about how the two mediums fit together or don’t fit together. It’s hard for me to do! But it should be fun!

Lol! That makes me think of Mario World 64 where, in order to get to the final level to fight Bowser, you have to climb this long set of stairs, and if you don’t have enough stairs, it’s a never ending staircase.
