Aah, very cool, you could have hit the nail on the head there Keith, im so myopic i didnt even spot the Morello.
It cant be easy turning songs from a comic book into real songs on screen, respect to whoever you have writing the tunes.
Maybe you could get Pegg in to write some drum parts, would be fun to see him pop up in the blog photos lurking behind a drum kit.
My favorite example of a movie adapting a song from a book was “Baby Can You Dig Yo Man” from The Stand. It was this runaway hit in the book, and I was really curious about how they could convert it into a catchy song that could conceivably be a hit for the movie. I guess they couldn’t though, since the mini-series seemed afraid to play any more than four seconds of the song at a time.
Wallace Wells’ heckling of Crash and the Boys in the first book is gold, by the way – I really hope that’s incorporated into the movie.

It’s the Rockit, a real venue. I used to go there a lot around 6 years ago or so, but I’m not sure if they still do shows there anymore.
It closed down about 3 or 4 years ago, now it’s some bar.
