AFAIK, there was no physical CD release of the film’s score (in the US anyway).  I emailed the record label (ABKCO) back in 2010 asking if there was a CD version as I’d much rather have a CD than the mp3 files.  They said, no, there’s no plans on releasing a CD.  So these flac files from HD Tracks is great news, for people in the US anyway.  Seems silly to me to restrict sales outside of the US…and they wonder why people steal music.  People want to pay for music, yet they make it so difficult to do so.

Wait, the score is on CD?! Every time I look for it I just find digital downloads. If there is a physical release, can someone please point me towards where I can get it?

What a shitty website.  Really, a Java download manager?  Please put this on Bandcamp, a much better experience.

Non-nerds might want to keep in mind that iTunes (iPods, iPhones) can not play flac files. With that in mind, you can accomplish similar quality by purchasing the score on CD (before it goes out of print!) and using iTunes to rip to Apple Lossless. I am guessing that you lose something in quality if you use a program to convert a flac file to an Apple Lossless file. (In my experience, the file size of a flac file is smaller than an Apple Lossless file.)

I believe a Zune player can play flac files.

I’m sure a bigger audio dork than myself can explain further.

There are a few things in life that can make life better every day. A great bed, great speakers/headphones. There are just some things we should all forsake the drinks at the club for a month or so and splurge on. Just my two cents.
