Hot Fuzz | See Film Differently | Little Theatre Cinema, Bath | Thurs 24th Nov 2011

The good people at Little White Lies & Volkswagen have an ongoing series of showing films in their locations. This Thursday they are showing ‘Hot Fuzz’ in Bath, about 30 miles away from the City Of Wells where I grew up. The venue is the Little Theatre, a great cinema I would frequent as soon as I was old enough to own a car. Should be a fun night. Details below.

Thanks to his upstaged colleagues, top London cop Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is reassigned to a small village. Once there, he begins to suspect that the rural idyll may not be all it seems. Accompanied by his witless new partner (Nick Frost), Angel and his ‘big city skills’ set about uncovering why the most crime-free village in the country also happens to have a peculiarly high rate of gruesome accidents.

Played out in classic British dark comedy style, and packed with a stellar cast including Bill Bailey, Stephen Merchant, Steve Coogan, Jim Broadbent and Bill Nighy, four years later Hot Fuzz still ticks all the action, comedy and mystery boxes.

In association with our friends at DCM, we’ll be bringing Hot Fuzz back to the big screen for one night only, Thursday 24th November. Inspired by director and co-writer Edgar Wright’s own childhood, the film was shot in his home town Wells, Somerset, so we’ll be screening it at the lovely Little Theatre Cinema in nearby Bath.

Doors open at 20:30, when guests can get in the mood with a private pre-screening exhibition of film stills, before picking up their complimentary popcorn and drinks.
