A quick post to say my season of ‘Movies Edgar Has Never Seen’ is being finalised as we speak.
Between the dates of Dec 9th and Dec 16th, I will be screening 7 double features, one triple feature and one midnight movie.
I can’t thank the New Beverly Cinema enough for letting me do this. These are movies I’ve waited to see for the first time on a big screen and with an audience. (That’s you).
Just waiting on two missing slots to complete the line up. There are going to be some great guests too. It’s been quite the education to try and source some of the movies and a little bittersweet to see that decent 35mm prints of some of them are near impossible to come by. But rest assured, the final line up will be quite something.
Off the list are ‘Gaslight’, ‘Deep End’, ‘Zabriskie Point’, ‘Nightmare Alley’ and ‘It’s A Gift’. Why? Well, because I’ve seen them.
Check back in here end of the week for the details of the full 8 days of cinematic overload. Come to fill in your film history blanks with me or see your favourite movie again with a great crowd.
Los Angeles is a town where many will not admit to having never seen some classic or cult movies, but I am a firm believer in being honest about the holes in my film knowledge. I also uphold this thought; it’s never too late to see a movie.
See you in December.
(p.s. Here’s acronyms of some of the films: TGCHI, GC, SBJ, MT, TBD, TFTFODT, K, UOC, CE, WH, TOB, TMWSLV, RTHC, TBONTB, TBNB, HAB, CW, BB or to give it it’s full title: TAOBBATED)
