A guy a used to work with me Ray Harryhausen and few years ago. He got tickets to a talk he was giving, and said he went along dressed normally (C-3PO t-shirt, baggy jeans, wallet chain etc) to what turned out to be quite a formal event with everyone else in suits and shirts etc. Anyhoo, he said he went up at the end to get his book signed, and then asked Ray why he didn’t do animation any more, to which he said “Because Star Wars ruined everything…” :O.
Anyhoozle, the mans a legend. And bloody Landis too! What fabulous circles to you move in that you can just be ‘surprised’ by a visit from John Landis, as if he was some kooky neighbour…

That’s adorable. I don’t know why i used that word, but it somehow seems appropriate to me.
And I randomly met John Landis in the halls of Comic-Con. Twice. I left the line for Futurama to go get a photo with him, and when I came back, everyone was asking me who he was. For shame.
Ya’ know. I was waiting in line to meet Robert Rodriguez at Comic Con and someone totally cut in front of me in line. And you know who it was? John Freakin Landis.
He’s allowed. He directed Fistful Of Yen.
